A Short Walk Across the Green Bloke Plateau (2 km)

A perfect choice for families and nature lovers

For those who want to enjoy pristine nature without embarking on a long hike, we’ve created a pleasant circular trail less than 2 kilometers long. The path is especially suitable for families with young children and anyone looking for a relaxing walk through meadows and forest trails.

Along the way, you’ll be treated to beautiful views of the green Bloke landscape, the peaceful sounds of nature, and sightings of animals grazing in nearby pastures. You’ll often spot horses, cows, and calves peacefully enjoying their natural surroundings.

One of the unique features of the trail is a special wooden gate in one of the meadows. You’ll open and close it in a truly original and charming way – a small but delightful detail. Just be sure to close the gate behind you.

This short but magical trail is perfect for starting the day gently, enjoying a relaxed afternoon, or taking an evening stroll as the sun sets over the plateau. We warmly invite you to experience Bloke at its most peaceful and authentic.

Enjoy a short but heartfelt hike embraced by nature!

The Shepherd's Circular Trail (10 km)

The trail begins at the Shepherd’s Hut (Pastirska koča) and takes you on a roughly 10-kilometer circular forest adventure. You’ll walk past quiet Bloke villages, through shaded forests, and occasionally across open clearings with beautiful views. Part of the route follows the well-known Krpan Trail.

The path is varied but suitable for most hikers. Tall trees will provide shade along much of the way, while colorful wildflowers brighten the scenery at the trail’s edge. In spring, with a bit of attention, you might even spot wild strawberries and other fascinating forest plants.

This trail connects the natural and cultural landscapes of Bloke – a perfect choice for those seeking more than just a walk: a true connection with nature, the silence of the woods, and the tranquility of the Bloke villages.

The Krpan trail

The Krpan Trail is a scenic circular hiking route that starts at Lake Bloke and winds through the distinctive Bloke landscape – past peaceful villages, meadows, forests, and historical landmarks. It stretches for about 19 kilometers, with an option to extend the walk to the source of the Iška River.

Along the way, you’ll discover over 20 natural and cultural attractions: churches, the remains of Nadlišek Castle, Napoleon’s Bridge, a traditional drying shed (pajštaba), a mill, and many other stories from the past. Part of the route follows the legend of Martin Krpan, who is said to have lived or worked in this very area.

The trail is varied but easy, suitable for hikers of all ages. It is well-marked with clear signs, silhouettes of Martin Krpan, and a map available at the starting point. Ideal for a full-day outing or for joining the traditional group hike held every April.
